Andrew’s use of his own personal struggle at school, coming to terms with dyslexia and ultimately achieving in a way beyond most peoples imagination, not everyone needs to Walk to the South Pole. Andrew proves that if you have your own dreams and goals you can achieve them despite the setbacks and adversity along the way.

Andrew Inspires the audience with a passionate account of growing up with Dyslexia, struggling to achieve and what led him to go to the South Pole, once the decision to go was made the preparation and setbacks before setting foot on the Antarctic continent.

Once in Antarctica Andrews daily battle to keep going, enduring the cold, having an injury, working as a team all set to stunning pictures.

This presentation can be used as part of the Geography or PSHE syllabuses or as a great start or end of term motivator.

Andrew finishes all presentations with a question and answer session for the students.

Multimedia slide show with workshop

A condensed presentation as above followed by interactive equipment workshops.

In the workshop the children will have the opportunity to see and try the expedition equipment used during the 2002 South Pole expedition.  Each presentation will be tailored to each age group.

Activities include
  Putting up the tent whilst warring expedition gloves
  As a team use the emergency shelters
  Try the expedition food (May contain nuts)
  Communicating whilst warring multiple layers of expedition clothing

Time: 25 min slideshow followed by 2 X 30 min interactive workshops (can be taylored to fit with timetables).

Prize giving / Speech day

Andrew has the ability to speak to a mixed age group, at school Prize giving / Speech days Andrew can be available for the whole event, as part of the formal proceedings Andrew can deliver a 10-15 min speech about achieving your own goals using his personnel experiences in Antarctica to inspire the whole audience.

In addition a fixed display can be set up showing spectacular images of Antarctica.

School fundraising
